Personal training

Indigo Personal Training offers both one-on-one and small group training.

We can train you in your home, outdoors or at our East Fremantle studio. We provide all the equipment you need for a fun and challenging workout that combines strength, training, cardiovascular work and stretching for maximum benefit.

Whether you are new to exercise or an experienced athlete, Indigo Personal Training will help you to define your goals and develop a programme that suits your needs, interests and lifestyle.

You may wish to improve sports performance, get in shape after having a baby, reduce stress or help manage your arthritis. You may prefer to train three times a week or once a month. Together, we will create a programme designed to achieve the results you want.

As you progress your programme will be adjusted to ensure you remain challenged and motivated. We know it can sometimes be difficult to stick to a programme so we also provide complimentary email and telephone support to ensure you stay on track.

Sessions are available in slots of one hour or 30 minutes. You can train alone or enjoy a workout with a friend or small group.

Sessions may be bought individually or at a discount rate in packages of five or 10. You may mix and match Pilates and personal training sessions or add on a Metabolic Jumpstart programme for even better results.

Weight management

Busy lifestyles often make it difficult to maintain a healthy diet. Weight loss pills and fad diets seem to offer a quick fix but research shows that 95 per cent of dieters regain the weight they lost within one to five years.

The weight loss industry is worth billions of dollars yet obesity is increasing at a dramatic rate. According to government statistics, 61 per cent of the Australian population are either overweight or obese.

Being overweight increases the risk of a range of conditions including type II diabetes, high blood pressure, coronary heart disease and certain cancers.

The mechanisms of weight loss are simple. In order to lose weight a person must consume fewer calories than they use. In other words, eat less and be more active. Unfortunately, this is easier said than done. A hectic schedule, bad habits and a lack of knowledge about nutrition often lead to failure.

Indigo Personal Training offers basic nutritional advice as part of our personal training and Pilates services but, for enhanced results, we recommend the Metabolic Jumpstart (MJ) programme.

Metabolic Jumpstart provides clients with a metabolically matched diet plan, report and programme designed by leading dietician, Matt O’Neill.  Matt, who is the resident nutritionist on Channel 7’s Sunrise programme and a regular contributor to Men’s Health, has designed Metabolic Jumpstart to kick-start your metabolism.  This highly- effective, four-week programme will help you take control of your diet and make the switch to nutrient-rich eating.

Indigo Personal Training is an official Metabolic Jumpstart partner and accredited coach. We can motivate and support you to achieve and maintain your weight loss goals.

Metabolic Jumpstart coaching is available as a standalone service or as part of a personal training package.

Pilates

In addition to personal training, we also offer mobile Pilates matwork sessions.

The Pilates method was created in the early 20th century by fitness enthusiast and innovator, Joseph Pilates. He developed a series of exercises on both the mat and, later, specialised equipment, with the aim of creating good postural alignment, a strong core and flexibility.

Indigo offers contemporary Pilates matwork lessons. This method upholds the principles established by Joseph Pilates but incorporates the latest research about the body and movement. Our holistic approach will help you create a strong and flexible body, free from pain and ready to face the physical challenges of everyday life.

Your Indigo Pilates experience will begin with a postural assessment, which will form the basis of your personalised Pilates programme.

Seniors' Fitness

Exercise has traditionally been regarded as an activity for the young but older adults can reap many benefits from both cardiovascular and resistance training.

Fitness can be improved at any age regardless of whether you are a regular exerciser or novice. Regular exercise can help stave off the gradual decline associated with ageing, helping us to lead longer, healthier and happier lives.

Indigo Personal Training specialises in exercise for the over-50s. In addition to our personal training services, we provide five Heartmoves classes per week at Cockburn Seniors Centre.

Heartmoves is a Heart Foundation exercise programme that has been developed specifically for older adults and those who have health risk factors or chronic illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes and bone or joint problems. It is also suitable for people who haven’t exercised for a long time. Classes incorporate gentle aerobic activity, weight-bearing or resistance exercise and stretching, all of which help to build strength and improve balance.

Indigo Personal Training also provides a weekly exercise class for the over-50s at Fremantle Women’s Health Centre.
